HEALING

AFTERCARE

Keep the fresh tattoo covered with the bandage
for at least 2 hours, no longer than 24hrs.
Do not remove the bandage until you
are at a place where you can clean the tattoo.

2

Wash the tattooed area thoroughly with soap and water.
Do not use anything abrasive like scrubs or exfoliators.

3

When dry, apply a very thin layer of Aquaphor to the tattoo.
Do not re-bandage.

4

Apply a thin layer of Aquaphor at least 2 times
a day for 3 days.

Ointment should not be too noticeable. Use as little as possible.

5

After 3 days, or when the tattoo starts to peel,
after cleaning, apply a thin layer of unscented lotion.
We suggest Lubriderm or Curel.

6

Avoid direct sun exposure and do not soak the
tattoo in water (pools and baths) for at least 2 weeks.

Showers are fine.

AFTERCARE

1

The bandage should be left on for no more than 72 hours (3 days). Some blood and fluids may collect underneath the bandage. If the bandage leaks or water gets underneath the seal then remove the bandage immediately. Do NOT re-bandage once it has been removed or has fallen off.

2

After 72 hours gently remove the Second Skin bandage, preferably by peeling it off in the shower or under running water in a clean sink. Clean the area gently with mild soap and water and rinse thoroughly.

3

Air-dry the tattoo for 30 minutes or use a clean paper towel to gently dab any water until fully dry.

4

Once the tattoo is fully dry, apply a thin layer of water-based lotion over the entirety of your tattoo with clean hands. Continue to apply 1-2 times a day until healed.
